  • Description:
    Currently inorganic acids like, for example sulphuric acid, are being contaminated during their use in treatments of metal surfaces. Their liquidation is challenging and costly. For example, standard method of purification – retardation/passivation – consumes 40% more water while wastewater is roughly 40% more contaminated by the acid.

    The novel technology on offer is particularly effective in recovering the electrolyte - diluted inorganic acid (e.g. H₂SO₄) is after technological process of passivation contaminated by residues of treated metal (e.g. Al₂(SO₄)₃ when aluminium is treated). Contaminated electrolyte needs to be replaced and liquidated.

    By diffusion dialysis metal ions dispersed in electrolyte are separated by membrane into water which leads to the electrolyte´s purification. The final outcome is purified electrolyte up to 90%, solid waste (salts) and waste water, containing most of the metal ions. Solid salts can be stocked in the dump or disposed by a professional company. Water can be treated by waste water treatment plant.

    The technology is tested for purification of the sulphuric acid, hydrochloric acid and nitric acid.
    The company is looking for a partner active in metal surface treatment industry for collaboration on installation and commissioning of the technology on the basis of a commercial agreement with technical assistance.
