  • Description:
Founded in 2014, the UK company operates in the medical industry, with a specific focus on the development of technologically innovative products and services. The chief executive officer and founder has over 10 years of experience in the field, and has worked closely with central health trusts throughout his career.
The founders have a history in procurement in the UK health sector, and are very familiar with an important initiative to replace trolley-based desktop computers, powered by car batteries as the mobile technology of choice. These systems have proven cumbersome, carbon inefficient, and costly. The push towards tablets to replace these systems has grown substantially over the past year and these devices will make up the majority of mobile computing within 3 years. The company has therefore been established to specifically develop products which will accelerate the acceptance of tablets in the healthcare industry, and specifically in the UK NHS and USA Healthcare Sector.
Having successfully launched the product into the medical sector the company have undertaken market research and have identified that the product could add significant value to aid agencies and national medical and defence organisations that work in harsh or extreme environments and would like to find distribution partners that are already part of the supply chain to these types of organisations under a distribution services agreement.

The iPad cover has been designed to withstand the highly corrosive sprays used to clean medical devices. It is completely waterproof, contains smooth edges for ease of cleaning, and a complementary software system has been developed for use in hospitals across the UK.
It is the first product of its type to use armored anti-microbial glass and it can even be used if the clinician wears surgical gloves. A new slim line version of the iPad cover has also been developed and the CEO has become aware that this product would be an excellent fit for other organisations that work in harsh environments or disease infected locations.
Basic and Advanced versions of the iPad cover are offered, the latter being capable of holding radio frequency identification (RFID) modules to add functionality. The first of these is designed to recognise and authenticate the iPad user from the smartcard already in use throughout the NHS. This will reduce log in times from circa 5 minutes, to a matter of seconds through a simple 4-digit pin. Other snap-in modules will include an Imprivata Smartcard Reader, one of the most widely used in hospitals across Europe and the USA.
