    A small Copenhagen, Denmark based start-up company is launching a collection of underwear targeting women and men in the age group 16-35 and is looking for producers of basic underwear to make the private label collection for them under a manufacturing agreement.

    The all-women team, got their idea after realising that there was a niche in the market between the mainstream, low-price, discount underwear segment and smaller, higher priced brands. The team has experience in sales and marketing from Europe and USA as well as online sales and has designed a collection to be launched in autumn 2018 via their own online site.

    The aim is to produce a collection of sustainable, basic, everyday underwear, which is both affordable and comfortable. Market studies from the target customer group showed an increasing awareness of environmental conscious clothing as part of a purchasing decision and the collection is therefore to be made in Lenzing MicroModal or another similar fabric, and recycled cotton (organic cotton for gusset), and recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate (RPET) mixed with elastane

    The company has designed three styles of women's panties (brief, hipster, thong), three styles of soft bras (two triangles and sports bra style), and two styles of men’s underwear (boxers and briefs). Each style should be available in both black and white, preferably seam-free, with approximately 250 units of each style / colour. Full, technical drawings are of course available to companies in the negotiation process.

    The ideal manufacturer would be a small producer of underwear, interested in taking on a small private label series of around 250 units per style. They would typically have access to their own stock of organic cotton and Modal or similar and have access to full Cut - Make - Trim (CMT) services in-house, and have machinery for seam-free production. They are likely to be located in Eastern Europe, but this is not a requirement. The Danish company would like to visit any potential cooperation partners as part of the process to ensure that the first samples are correctly made and to check initial production. They are offering a manufacturing agreement to the right company, with initial deliveries expected in October 2018.

    All products must be made sustainably, which means that an ideal manufacturer would be an Ökotex 100 or Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) registered company, although they are open to discussions with others, if they can demonstrate access to organic or recycled cotton and RPET.

    They would expect a full Cut-Make-Trim (CMT) service to be available and possibly also packing into own boxes - to be provided by the start-up company.

    The ideal partner is a small manufacturing company, with an existing line of underwear and own in-house CMT services. They must be open to working under a private label agreement for the Danish clients.

    They should have access to fabric in Modal or similar, organic and / or recycled cotton and should ideally have some form of organic certification.

    This would suit a small and growing manufacturing plant which can grown with the client and could be in Eastern Europe, to benefit from the relatively low production costs, although this is not a requirement.
