    A French SME develops an innovative method based on a new approach of High Hydrostatic Pressure (HHP) to guarantee the microbial safety of cosmetics. The purpose is to set up products with the lowest concentration of preservatives, even without any of the latters.
    For a EUROSTARS project, the SME is looking for industrial partners which have the technological capacity for putting this novel process to the test in order to permit altogether a quick launching of these innovative cosmetics.
  • Description:
    Cosmetics with a high storage life and free of micro-organisms are basic and the standard nowadays. Therefore a treatment with low temperature of the cosmetic products is used in order to sterilize them. The said treatment is doubtlessly safe and reliable, but the other side of the coin of this temperature treatment is the alteration of nearly all organoleptic, physical and chemical properties of the product.
    The patentent-registred novel method of sterilizing products through a novel and branded approach of High Hydrostatic Pressure (HHP), developed and applied by the French SME, offers a happy medium. It conciliates microbial safety equivalent to a cold sterilization with the maintain of the integrity of the intrinsic properties of the treated products.
    The goal of the French SME is to develop "clean" cosmetics, that is a beauty product with the minimum of preservatives, even without any of the latters.
    This novel approach of HPP processes takes into account all the parameters governing the application of pressure on the treated product. The French SME developed and detains its own and unique equipment indispensable for the said process. In addition, the French SME develops a novel airless-type packaging in order to maintain the said microbial safety during the conditions of the cosmetics's employment.
    The French SME has already acquired several experiences in european partnerships.
    The French SME is seeking industrial partners for a participation in a two-years EUROSTARS project.
    The French SME is looking for enterprises which are technologically capable to put to the touch the said novel process in the field of cosmetics. The partner has to have the technology which is able to prove that the integrity of the organoleptic qualities and the internal structure of the product are not compromised. The partner will accordingly participate in the improvement of the process. Furthermore, the tests will permit to accelerate the common launching of the cosmetic products.
    The call deadline will be 15th September 2016.
    The enterprise will be open for receiving expressions of interest until the 05th September 2016.
    The project's duration will be about 24 months.

    The role of the partner will be to sample the effenciency of the High Hydrostatic Pressure Processes developed by the French SME. Its experience must be focused on the formulation and the characterization of physico-chemical and organoleptic properties of cosmetics.
